Alive and kicking

DESPITE what might be happening elsewhere, the sun smiled on us and, community spirit and goodwill is alive and kicking in Tarring.

A very big thank-you to Sharon Featherstone and her resident’s charity, for without her help and the support that of the two local Churches, West Worthing Baptist and St Andrews’ Parish Church , the Event would not have happened.

Around two thousand people attended the picnic , and many other participants did their bit to make the day a very enjoyable one for all ages.

The list of supporters is too long to mention everyone, but thank you too! However, special thanks go our local police, the fire brigade , the Worthing Lions, Worthing Homes, our musician, Dr Peter Ridge of Northbrook College, and many more.

Norah Fisher, chaired the team this year, and councillor Bob Smytherman in his county role with the County Local Committee enabled us to be funded, so thanks to all of them too.

Lastly but not least the children who as Wombles went around litter picking were little stars!

We had a great day, we hope you did, too. If you had a good time and would like to see it happen again next year please contact us as soon as possible via the Baptist Church on a Saturday morning.
