Cats are responsible too

I NOTE from last week’s Herald that a reader is calling for the cull of urban foxes as they “make holes in the lawn, dig the garden up and also dig up new plants”.

She is sick of “so-called animal rights people who are determined, no other word but their own, be heard”.

Bearing in mind the domestic cat (of which she seems so fond) is also responsible for the crimes she lists and for killing 55 million songbirds in the UK every year (RSPB figure), I wonder if she would want that same group of people to speak out against those who would welcome the nationwide cull of the cat?
