Worthing has so much to offer, but could do more, by providing access to the beach for those wishing to swim but are unable to cross the shingle.
The beach is too unstable and very steep. There are other resorts where the local council has provided safe access by using portable paths down to the sea.
I can remember in the late 1940s/early 1950s that the fishermen would use a device that was similar to a long trolley on wheels that was used to transport passengers and fish to and from their boats.
I would love to swim in the sea at Worthing, but have to either go to Splashpoint pool or somewhere such as Littlehampton which does have a ramp.
