Crossing ‘beeps’ no use if you are deaf

I AM writing about the new puffin crossing pedestrian crossing traffic lights all over Worthing.

I have problems using the crossings because I am profoundly deaf. I cannot hear the beeping noise.

Although there is a green and red man on the post, for example, when it is a busy day, like the fair in the summer, the crowds of people block the post, so I can’t see the red and green man. I can’t hear the beeping, so I don’t know when to cross the road.

I have to rely on watching the traffic lights which are for the cars and not for me. This is very unsafe. Does anybody else have this problem?
