Disappointed by Broadwater comments

I WAS disappointed to read comments from Keith Sunderland (ex-Lib Dem, Worthing Borough Council) in the current Lib Dem newsletter, concerning problems with empty units in the Broadwater Street West shopping area.

A quick check would have revealed to Keith that out of 84 business units, only three are currently empty.

This is a vacancy rate of just 3.6 per cent, which compares very favourably with the national rate of 14.5 per cent (ref Local Data Company).

I know many of the owners and managers of businesses in Broadwater, and I know how hard they work to keep the area thriving.

What a pity Mr Sunderland chooses to undermine them with such negativity.
