I wholeheartedly agree with David King’s comments on the eye clinic at Worthing Hospital (letters, .
I was amazed at how easy (for me) the whole process was, and it was wonderful to be able to “see” clearly again.
The letdown was when I thought the other eye would be done and was told that as I could see out of one eye, due to the cuts in NHS spending, they were unable to offer me this second operation. I was fortunate in being able to afford to have the second procedure carried out at Goring Hall.
I read that cataract operations, knee and hip replacements might not be available due to the restrictions put on the NHS by Government spending cuts and am concerned that pensioners (who are the ones mostly needing these operations) won’t be able to afford these life-enhancing procedures.
