On behalf of Worthing Lions Club, I would like to thank the public of Worthing, and many others, for supporting the Worthing Lions Festival.
A fabulous time was had by all at numerous events throughout the town. The fire station open day, as always, was a great success. Motor bikes and cars filled Steyne Gardens on two days. A bus rally along Marine Parade on Sunday was keenly supported with rides along to Brooklands. The seafront market ran for the whole period with some very different and exciting stalls.
On Sunday, the promenade was filled to Heene Road with the charity stalls, whith reports that they raised a tremendous amount of funds for their causes.
The only ‘blip’ was the rain and storm on Saturday evening, which caused the Goldwings Light Ride to be cancelled. However, the firework display went ahead, luckily, and what a brilliant display it was. Thanks must go to our sponsors, Yeomans Toyota, without whom the fireworks wouldn’t have been possible,
Thanks also go to Jess and Rachel of Barties Markets and to Malcolm Gilbert of the Charles Dickens pub, who has given us his support for this and many other events.
I hope everyone had a good time at what is the largest annual event in Worthing.
