I read of the flooding problems on the A27 near to the former Sussex Pad hotel and some comments statng that it never used to flood in this area.
Could it be that the colossal amounts of soil deposited near to the corner of Shoreham Airport, in pursuit of creating a golf course, could be to blame, by displacing water that, formerly, would have dispersed through the flood plain?
The dumping of soil has been going on in this location for a few years, now, and the golf course seems to be no nearer completion.
Could this have just been an excuse to dump soil?
Now that it seems permission will eventually be granted for housing in this area, the soil will probably have to be taken away again.
Meanwhile, we are left with flooding problems disrupting the busy A27.
