Father Christmas, his sleigh and helpers returned to the streets of Worthing in December to lead the way to help two of Worthing’s local Rotary clubs with their street collections in support of local charities.
The collections covered most parts of the town, over a couple of weeks, and Father Christmas met many very generous families and residents and collected about £1,400 because of everyone’s generosity.
So a big thank-you, from Worthing Steyne and Worthing West Rotary Clubs, to all the people of Worthing who so generously contributed.
And also to Father Christmas, who accompanied the sleigh and brought so much delight to the children.
The funds raised support local charities and community activities, such as the Christmas lunch for 80 senior citizens, held at the East Worthing Community Centre on December 19.
Other charities that benefit from this year’s Rotary activities include the Prostate Cancer Society, the Worthing MS Society, Worthing Parkinson’s Society, Worthing Scope, Water Aid and Rotary Shelter Boxes.
The Rotary clubs send wishes for a Happy New Year to all the residents of Worthing and district.
