Generous support

FATHER Christmas, his sleigh and helpers returned to the streets of Worthing in December to lead the way to help two of Worthing’s local Rotary Clubs with their street collections in support of local charities.

The collections covered most parts of the town over a couple of weeks and Father Christmas met many very generous families and residents and collected about £1,900 because of everyone’s generosity.

So a big thank-you from Worthing Steyne and Worthing West Rotary Clubs to all the people of Worthing who so generously contributed and also to Father Christmas.

We would also like to record our thanks to Tullets Van Hire who donated the use of the vehicle and Worthing Scope who supplied the drivers and helped with the organisation of the project.

The funds raised support local charities and community activities such as the Christmas Lunch for 100 senior citizens, so generously acknowledged by a letter from Mrs Spry of Tavy Road in the Your Views column of December 29.

The Rotary Clubs send wishes for a Happy New Year to all Worthing and district residents.
