I am absolutely outraged at the senseless vandalism to daub one of Worthing’s few remaining historical buildings in an appalling and tasteless colour of bright pink.
The person(s) responsible must be deranged to believe they have actually enhanced its appearance.
Why the Lifeboat House was never listed under The Heritage Act is simply bewildering. Used by the RNLI from 1875, it has featured in most illustrated books recording the history and progress of Worthing.
Other buildings of a lesser significance enjoy the protection of the legislation, so I just hope the authorities address this anomaly and rectify the situation with this particular building promptly.
