I’M not a resident, but I am a regular user of East Worthing roads.
Those living on all the residential rat runs have my sympathies for all the noise, pollution and consequent stress that come from having extensive, fast motor traffic going past your door.
As a road user, I would welcome the introduction of 20mph for all of Worthing’s residential roads as one small step towards a more civilised society in West Sussex.
I hope the majority of Worthing residents will support the proposal in the upcoming WBC “Your chance to be the Chancellor” exercise, especially as such a small expenditure (approximately £250,000) has the potential to give significant financial benefits from reduced accident costs
It will also provide improved general health when there is less desire to use a car owing to the road conditions.
