‘Iconic’, again...

Roffey Homes has rightly been praised for the quality of its various projects in the town.

Some of the designs are outstanding. Why, oh why, are they now trying to impose a couple of high-rise blocks, one at the Aquarena site and the other on the seafront?

If I hear the word ‘iconic’ used again in relation to these eyesores I’ll do something a mischief. High-rise blocks, more flats, more money flowing into the coffers, all for the same ‘footprint’.

Come on, Roffey, don’t blot your copy book now by prattling on about the aesthetic appearance and ‘affordable housing’, etc., as an excuse – you are better than that.
