It’s just spite

My son was recently issued with a parking ticket. Total cost £50. His ‘crime’ – he didn’t complete the resident parking ticket correctly.

He was in the correct place, the ticket was paid for, the date and time of parking was scratched off correctly, but he omitted to enter his car’s registration number.

The ticket can only be used on one car at a time so could not be transferred, so he was fined for a minor omission.

This sort of fine is pure, pedantic spite and illustrates just how mean and petty and far removed the people who control our parking are from the people they aim to serve.

Is it any wonder the majority of people hold traffic wardens in contempt.
