Low voter turnout despite hysteria over election

Just to put all of the hype, hysteria and general media total over-the-top reaction to the recent election results into context, could I point out that the turnout for West Sussex was 29.96 per cent, or put another way, 70 per cent could not be bothered to vote .

The previous county council election figure was 38.72 per cent. Perhaps a drop of nearly 10 per cent should carry a greater message to all the political parties that they are in danger of losing contact with the general public.

Certainly, from the point of view of a pensioner on a limited income I can see very little difference between the very well-off and well-fed party leaders of all shades I see parading on my TV screen.
