Making a traumatic experience easier

ON Saturday, August 6, my son Samuel unfortunately fractured his wrist whilst at a party at Worthing Leisure Centre.

During the next few hours we interacted with a number of different people, all of whom did more than their ‘job’s worth’ and made a very traumatic experience a lot easier.

I would therefore like to say thank you in recognition of what they did.

The staff at the leisure centre were very supportive, especially Luke who was extremely calm and professional in his assessment of Samuel, and Jenny, who looked after us in the office and kept us entertained until the ambulance arrived.

I would also like to thank Dave and Tony for their caring approach to Samuel and me during our journey to Worthing Hospital in their ambulance.

In X-ray, Samuel became very distressed and Helen showed great patience and inventiveness to obtain the images required.

Finally, I would like to thank Pearl for the tenderness and compassion she showed Samuel when removing his sling and fitting a cast to his wrist.

My faith in humanity is restored, thank you.
