I HAVE recently renewed my Worthing residents’ parking permit.
The cost has risen by 33 per cent.
Can someone explain why this exorbitant increase has come about?
I note there is not a 33 per cent increase in parking spaces nor has there been a 33 per cent increase in enforcement officers and they certainly haven’t received a 33 per cent pay rise. So why this massive increase?
In my opinion, this is a council tax rise by the back door.
As such, it is discriminatory against those who live in an area with residents’ parking as those who live outside these areas do not have to pay this massive increase, and neither do those who live in the area and don’t have a car.
Perhaps someone could explain the legality of this discriminatory rise.
