It comes as no surprise to me that West Sussex County Council has opted for a pedestrian crossing rather than a bridge across the A24 for the new school in Broadwater.
After all, they similarly refused a bridge and installed pedestrian crossings on the A24/A27 Grove Lodge roundabout for the sixth form college, which, as plenty of people predicted it would, have resulted in enormous tailbacks.
I suppose if the council offices were located in Worthing, rather than Chichester, they might have had cause to think otherwise.
