Our town can move forward

Having read last week in Ian Hart’s column (May 8) about the sad closure of the Jolly Brewers, boarded up for all to see...

I would like to think that Worthing can still move forward. You printed my previous letter when I was disgusted that Worthing was losing another part of history but when this pub closed if anyone thought that was the last of the two landladies, Sophie and Lisa, then they were wrong! I found them in Rhia Belle – a new wine bar and tearoom in Bedford Row and was given the same warm welcome as always. Having had a delightful proper cup of tea (with leaves, not bag) and sampled homemade cake, I fully intend to return for an evening drink. May I change your words Mr Hart and say ‘glass full’ ? If Sophie and Lisa can bounce back from misfortune, then surely Worthing can also go forward but still retain its character?
