Please explain

With central government stating that we have a moral obligation to monitor the number of betting establishments in the country, can someone please explain to my why our council has deemed it fit to allow Ladbrokes to open yet another gambling/betting shop in our town, as the CEO of our council seems unable to do so or doesn’t want to.

In addition to this, rumour has it that William Hill will soon be opening a betting shop in the premises currently known as Pizza Hut.

Again the CEO has failed to deny or confirm this rumour.

Surely our council, in partnership with the town centre manager, should be working to encourage more retail outlets to the town centre, so that people don’t feel the need to travel to Brighton or Chichester, rather than taking the easier option of allowing the betting industry to infiltrate our town.
