Poor leadership at the council?

With regard to the £26,000 IT failure, Paul Yallop said disclosure of the cause was out of his control, because the decision not to reveal the result of the investigation was made by the council officers.

In my opinion, that is weak and ineffectual council leadership. The council officers are well paid to do as they are told by their employers, and should not be allowed to hide their shortcomings.

Public service requires more effective leadership, openness and honesty from our councillors and staff. Or better quality office holders...
