Prompt response

HOW refreshing to have such a prompt response from a councillor on the borough’s county local committee with regard to The Boulevard gap closures, particularly as Robin Rogers heeded both professional advice and the wishes of his constituents by voting against the proposal.

Is it too much to ask the five who ignored both advice and wishes to identify themselves and give us the reasons why they wish to make the roundabouts more dangerous; in particular the one who does not drive?

Could we also know the cost of the closures and why we are to incur unnecessary expenditure in these financially straitened times?

As a company director, liability insurance does not cover repercussions for any decision I take against professional advice and if the same holds true for council committee members I would not want to be in their shoes when the first big accident occurs at a roundabout following the gap closures.
