Record Lions year

WORTHING Lions would like to thank the generous people of Worthing, who donated £4,350 through street collections and another £450 for Canine Partners from the Charles Dickens.

Amazingly, it was a record year for donations, despite the hard times and pressures on everyone’s purses.

All the money raised will go to deserving causes – stroke victims through a new rehabilitation scheme, sea cadets who need special equipment, and many more individuals and small groups. Not a penny goes on administration.

The Lions are now forging ahead with plans for the Seafront Festival on July 29-31.

We are planning activities in Steyne Gardens during the Saturday, and if you would like to get involved and take part, please contact our Lion president at the Goring shop as soon as possible.

Our aim is involve different cultures, groups and organisations as one community, so many thanks for your input.

We also need more members, with new skills and muscle preferably, but in any case, with an enthusiasm for serving Worthing.

Please contact Lion president Peter Rixon or our membership secretary, Lion Christine Allen, at the shop at 115 George V Avenue, Goring BN11 5SA, by calling 01903 502807 or by visiting our website (

Again, thank you, Worthing residents and visitors.
