Congratulations on your World War One series, I have yet to see a more interesting and thorough one.
Incidentally, many years ago I read in an old issue of the Herald that a Lancing man named Fred Rozee claimed to have started the famous Christmas Day truce of 1914 as he shouted over to the German troops: ‘How about a football match?’
His unusual surname has stuck in my mind. Are there any Rozee’s still living in this area I wonder?
