I read with interest article and letter in last week’s edition about paving and cycling.
The upgraded paving in Montague Street will be of huge benefit to the community and businesses. However, creating more cycle routes will only benefit a small number of people.
Do the cycle lobby honestly believe the population of Worthing will take to their bicycles given dedicated cycle routes, I think not!
It is possible, as we know, to cycle legally along the promenade from Worthing Pier to George V Avenue, but why do I constantly see more cyclists using the road every day with the odd one on the promenade?
Clearly lengthening the cycleway to Sea Lane will be of little benefit as they can safely use the road to Sea Lane without terrorising pedestrians.
