Youth projects compete for Pot of Gold cash

PROJECTS that will directly benefit young people will be battling for funding from the Adur Pot of Gold.

A total of 17 projects will be competing for the cash in front of a live audience at Adur Civic Centre tonight.

The annual event sees the audience decide which project they like best, having heard presentations from each.

This year’s pot of gold has been targeted at projects for the under-25s and a team of young people joined councillors to decide which of the 27 entries would be invited to awards night. There are two pots available, one for projects up to £2,000 and one for projects from £2,001 to £5,000.

Those competing are 1st Sompting Scouts Group, Hands on Community, Creative Waves, Shoreham Rugby Club, Activ8 for Kids, 3rd/5th Lancing Sea Scout Group, Lancing Rangers/Lancing United, Esteem YMT, Fishersgate Active Grub Club, Angling4Education, Storm Junior Basketball Club, Wild Foxes Forest School, St Peters RC Church, Wickers Gymnastics Club, Original Allstars Music, Sompting Big Local and 1440 Shoreham By Sea Air Cadets.
