All hands on deck- it's regatta time

DESPITE recent bad weather, hundreds of Sussex sailors are working hard to get their boats ready for Easter when the Sussex Regatta '“ which marks the beginning of the county's sailing year '“ will be held.

Regatta chairman Robin Stevenson said: "In spite of recent storms and the early start to the season this year, we expect a large turnout and very competitive racing."

The regatta is the largest combined inshore yachting meeting in Sussex and will draw entrants from all along the Sussex coast from Chichester to Eastbourne.

Racing will take place over the Easter weekend off Shoreham Harbour and will involve yachts of all sizes competing in four different classes in a total of five races over three days.
