ARUNDEL SAFE AFTER GORING WIN?

GORING need a comeback of last seasons proportions if they are to aviod the drop. First they must halt a succession of defeats which has drained their confidence.

When they won the toss at Arundel and chose to field first it appeard a defensive move as on a good wicket there seemed little likleyhood of bowling out the home side easily.

Goring were delighted to see Steve Mullen depart fairly cheaply, and at 79-3 Arundel were wobbling a bit. In the end debutant Kirat Damani had come on for his first bowl, and spun one through a surprised Mark Rasmussen's defences.

Arundel batsman Joel Wiles hit a club-record league score of 138 not out.
