Bognor’s Tone Zone Runners are reflecting on an excellent turnout and performances at their home 10k.

A total of 103 runners were fielded from the club – a record number for the event.

All the runners performed well in the warm conditions and the tremendous local support was a great help for all involved, as reported in the Observer last week.

The club’s new intake of runners from January ran their first race, the target of their training for the past five months. Many of them are now looking to their next target race.

Tone Zone’s Simon Gill came fifth overall in 34.28 while Kari Mack was the third lady in 40.38. A record number of PBs were recorded.

In other races, Ian Culton, who is now approaching 100 marathons, ran three in two weeks – Arun River, Bewl Water and the Weald Trail Marathon.

Simon Bodsworth, Colin Hiscock and Ian Bayley ran the Arun River Marathon and Paul Coe and Laura Newell the Weald Trail Half Marathon.
