Commonwealth Games bronze for Horsham athlete Jade Lally

Horsham discus star Jade Lally picked up a bronze medal at the Commonwealth Games this evening (Friday August 1).

Jade, who trains at Broadbridge Heath Leisure Centre, put together a series of consistent throws to stay in the hunt for a medal.

After peppering the 60m line, she finally managed to edge over it with 60.48 which placed her firmly in bronze position.

Australian Dani Samuels took a commanding lead with 64.88 to wrap up gold and Seema Punia from India planted the discus out to 61.61 for silver.

Jade had qualified on Thursday with 57.13 but found top form for the final.
