Big-hitters plunder Horsham runs

Horsham under-12s enjoyed a superb night in week seven of the Identilam Colts Indoor League, with two big wins.

First up at Tanbridge House School on Sunday, West Chiltington looked to have made a good start against Lingfield, but once Alfie Reeves and Jamie Walker departed, the runs dried-up as they were restricted to 44-4.

Reeves then took the wicket of Dominic Brown, but Lindfield were always in control as George Saunders’ unbeaten 22 steered them home.

In the second game of the night, Horsham’s Alex Munnoch ,18, Connor Jones, 20, not out, set the platform against West Chilt, and Adam Williams and Seb Lewis built on it, despite two wickets in an over for Jamie Walker, as they posted 112-3. Alfie Reeves took the attack to Horsham, but after his breezy 17, only Scott Foice offered much resistance as Chilt struggled to 78-5.

And in the final match of the night, Munnoch, 22 not out and Jones, 23, maintained their good form, which allowed Scott Munnoch and Williams to score 31 runs off the final over against Lingfield.

The 127 target proved too much for the and although Dominic Brown, 22 not out, and James White made a spirited reply for Lingfield, that last over proved to be crucial.
