Hudson-Prentice signs Junior Professional Contract with Sussex

Sussex CCC have announced that young all-rounder Fynn Hudson-Prentice has signed a Junior Professional Contract with the County.

The 18 year-old, who was born in Haywards Heath, has been part of the Academy setup at The BrightonandHoveJobs.com County Ground for the past two seasons and has progressed through the Junior County Age Group squads.

He made his first-team debut in the Royal London One-Day Cup match against Glamorgan at Hove in August and has been a regular in the Second Eleven over the past couple of seasons, hitting two unbeaten centuries in the latter half of the 2014 season.

Fynn said of his new contract, “I was elated to be offered a Junior Professional Contract after being in the Junior Squads system since I was 10 years old.

“I am aware that the hard work starts now, and am delighted that Sussex have given me the opportunity to start the journey of what will hopefully be a long and successful career.

“I would like to thank Keith Greenfield for all his hard work and dedication over the years, and all the coaches who have played a part in my development.”

Sussex’s Cricket Performance Manager Keith Greenfield said, “It is always fantastic when a young home-grown player joins our professional staff.

“Fynn has worked hard within our squads and then our Academy over 9 years and knows what wearing the Martlets means.

“He fully deserves his opportunity, but this is an exciting opportunity for him to forge a long and fruitful career with the club he loves. We are all made up for him.”
