May said, “I believe that Sussex Cricket is in a very good position to enhance the development of cricket throughout Sussex. Our professional team has a new Head Coach in Mark Davis and a new Captain in Luke Wright and we have a strong squad for 2016.

“Recreational cricket is in good health with 245 affiliated Clubs who played more matches in 2015 than the previous year. In addition we have a growing role in building better futures and stronger communities through the power of cricket with our new charity, Sussex Cricket Foundation (SCF). Sussex has a proud cricket tradition and our new organisation has a clear vision to inspire a passion for cricket in the heart of our communities.”
