The two sides meet at the Jubilee Fields in the Premier Division on Saturday and Hurst skipper Ben Williams has stoked the flames by saying he is targeting a big scalp for his side.

Stalwarts Horsham have led the line locally for many years – although obviously reigning champions Roffey have had a recent surge – and are a team that plenty look up to in the area.

Saturday will be a test of how far Hurst have come as they look to lay down a marker in their maiden season in the Premier Division.

Williams said: “We are looking to go and beat Horsham, who have had the same sort of start as us.

“We are positive we can beat them and it should be a good game. They are obviously a great side and much more established that us.

“Two years ago we were going out against teams that are a lot smaller, so playing a side like Horsham will be a big game for the club and it’s the first time it has ever happened in the league.”

Horsham skipper Sam Attfield, however, will be treating the derby game like all other league matches this season.

He said: “I don’t know their players or their ground because we have never played them before but have heard it’s decent. We should be fielding a similar team to last week.”
