Prior back in Sussex squad

ENGLAND wicketkeeper Matt Prior is back in the Sussex Sharks squad for the t20 game at Essex tonight (June 28).

Sussex are hoping to extend their lead at the summit of the Friends Life t20 South Group when they take on Essex Eagles at The Ford County Ground, Chelmsford (7.10pm start).

The Sharks are hoping to make it a quick double over the Eagles and open up a four-point gap at the top in the process, following their 19-run victory against them at The PROBIZ County Ground on Sunday.

There were 399 runs scored across the 40 overs with Chris Nash (52), Luke Wright (40), Scott Styris (36) and Joe Gatting (45 not out) all helping Sussex pass the 200-mark. Chris Liddle’s three wickets in reply helped dismiss the visitors for 190.

Sussex welcome back Prior to the squad for tonight’s Sky televised clash, while Styris, who dislocated his thumb taking a sharp return catch on Sunday, could still be set to play.

The full Sussex squad is: Khan, Beer, Brown, Gatting, Goodwin, Naveed Arif Gondal, Liddle, Machan, Nash, Prior, Styris, Wright, Yardy (capt).
