SUSSEX LEAGUE ROUND-UP: Rofffey back on top as Nomads lose to Eastbourne

Roffey have a three-point lead at the top of the Premier League aafter beating Bexhill - while championship rivals Preston Nomads lost to Eastbourne.

Leigh Harrison took 5-39 for Roffey as Bexhill collapsed to 100 all out chasing Roffey’s total of 173. Asher Zaidi took 4-40 for Bexhill.

Eastbourne enjoyed a 10-run win against Preston Nomads in a thrilling encounter. A fine 119 not out by Dan Wells off 180 balls set Eastbourne on course for victory with Dom Shepheard chipping in with 73 off 75 balls. In reply, Nomads reached 260 all out with fine knocks from Jeremy Green, (82 off 108 balls) and Patrick Spencer with 60 off 54 balls. David Twine was again the star with the ball with figures of 18-2-91-5.

Hastings enjoyed a 70 runs win over Cuckfield. For Hastings Harry Finch (41) and George Campbell (47) top scored in their total of 200-9, For Cuckfield Josh Hayward took 4/57 and Nick Patterson 3/71, In reply, Dan Doram took 3/41 as Cuckfield collapsed to 130 all out.

East Grinstead had a convincving 91 run win over Three Bridges. Grinstead hit 251-5 dec mainly thanks to Alex Carey (98) and Ollie Graham (77). In reply, Bridges were dismissed for 160 with Ian Sturmer taking 4-42. Tiim Moses hit 38 for Bridges.

Brighton and Hove beat Horsham by 12 runs. Brighton batted first and were all out for 164 with Mike Munday (4/49) and Travis Muller (3/24) the pick of the bowlers. In reply, Lachlan Sperling took 4/25 as Horsham were dismissed for 152.

In division 2, Lindfield cruised to 107 run win against Chichester Priory Park. Lindfield hit 210-9 with Michael Rippon hiting 60. Matt Geffen took 5-55 as Chichester were dismissed for 103.

Olly Scarfield took 7-51, Sam Thorns hit 91 and Robin Marriott 94 as Goring hammered Findon by 156 runs.

Rob Willway scored 69 for Middleton and Michael Murray scored 62 for St James as the sides drew.

Worthing beat Ifield by three wickets in a low-scoring affair. Corey Altis took 4-19 off 10 overs as Ifield were all out for 116. Matt Green hit 50 in the run chase.

Paul Brookes’ 7/91 was in vain as Crowhurst Park lost to Billingshurst by 111 runs. R Woodman (66) and D Mitipolaarachchi (5/36) were the stars for Billingshurst.

In Division 3, Bognor beat Glynde, Pagham won against beat Ansty, Burgess Hill beat Pulborough, Crawley Eagles triumphed over Stirlands while Haywards Heath and Rottingdean drew.

In Division 4, Steyning, Portslaade and Henfield all recorded wins while Crawley and Hellingly drew.
