The Sharks currently have six points in the Group A table and are two points shy of the Spitfires in the standings.

Although, qualifying for the knock-out stages of the tournament will be a huge ask for Sharks, even if they win all their remaining five games.

It is a busy week of YB40 action for Sussex as they also travel to take on group leaders Nottinghamshire Outlaws on Friday evening at Trent Bridge.

Friday’s match will be the final 40-over encounter for the Sharks until after the Friends Life t20 tournament so they will be eager to get some points in the bag this week before the competition takes a break.

Sussex can welcome back Joe Gatting to the squad although Amjad Khan is currently out with a wrist injury.

Action gets underway at Canterbury today at 4.40pm.

The Sussex squad is: JE Anyon, WAT Beer, BC Brown (wkt), JS Gatting, RJ Hamilton-Brown, LJ Hatchett, EC Joyce (capt), CJ Liddle, MW Machan, CD Nash, LJ Wright, MH Yardy.
