Rashid Khan was in action in the Australian Big Bash League with fellow Shark Phil Salt as Adelaide Strikers continued their campaign.

The week started well for the pair in a home match versus Perth Scorchers, as Salt made his first half-century of the season, being dismissed for 51 off 31 balls, with Rashid adding a late cameo of 29 off 13 balls.

Rashid finished off a superb performance with 2-18 from three overs with the ball as the Strikers won by 71 runs.

The reverse fixture against the Scorchers just three days later saw a change of fortunes for the pair as Salt made just four and Rashid eight as Adelaide were restricted to 146/9.

Rashid gave the Strikers some hope when he dismissed Colin Munro for six in the Scorchers chase to leave them at 80/3. However, he was unable to do any further damage as the Afghan leg-spinner finished with figures of 1-29 from his allocation as the Scorchers won by seven wickets.

The Strikers final game of the week saw them take on reigning champions Sydney Sixers at Carrara. Salt again fell early, dismissed for one by Ben Dwarshuis in the opening over of the game. Rashid was not needed with the bat but was influential with the ball, being far and away the pick of the bowlers, picking up three wickets to finish his allocation with figures of 3-18.

However, the target of 151 proved to be below par as the Sixers won by seven wickets to leave the Strikers fourth after seven games.

Multiple Sussex players have been drafted for the upcoming Abu Dhabi T10 league - the fourth edition of the revolutionary competition.

Salt and teammate Chirs Jordan have been retained by their side Qalandars, Sharks white-ball captain Luke Wright has been retained by his side Team Abu Dhabi and Sussex overseas man and previously a Kolpak player at the club David Wiese has been retained by his side Bangla Tigers. The league starts on 28 January, finishing on 6 February.

In case you missed it... Rashid Khan and Sarah Taylor have been named in the T20I team of the decade and women’s ODI team of the decade respectively.

Taylor was also nominated for women’s cricketer of the decade but was beaten by Australian Ellyse Perry who was also in the ODI side. Rashid was named ICC T20I cricketer of the decade, beating the likes of Chris Gayle and Virat Kohli.
