THE cricket season is now fully underway, which can mean only one thing – the One Stump Challenge is back, too.

Last year, the Herald and Gazette sports team went round local clubs to film the challenge for our websites.

The challenge? One stump at the end of the wicket, one ball in hand at the other end and you just need to hit the stump. It sounds simple, but it is surprising how tough it really is.

The challenge takes place on a standard wicket, so a normal bowling length where bowlers can use their preferred action.

Anyone who successfully hits the stump will win a One Stump Challenge t-shirt, designed and sponsored by Pinnacle Sport & Leisure, which is based in South Farm Road, Worthing.

Keep an eye on www.worthingherald.co.uk throughout the summer for all the latest challenges.

We kick things off with Goring tonight, so visit our website to find out how they got on.

The most successful team last year was Findon, where two players hit the stump. Goring were successful once, while Worthing, Chippingdale, Littlehampton and Southwick were unable to win a t-shirt, although they will all be hoping for better fortunes this year.
