Victory will put us in a strong place – Fleming

Roffey captain Josh Fleming believes victory in their top-of-the-table clash with East Grinstead will put his side in a strong position in the title race.

Second-place Roffey, who have a game in hand over the top sides, host third-place East Grinstead in the Premier Division on Saturday.

Roffey trail leaders Preston Nomads by four points and lead Grinstead by one going into a crucial weekend in the Sussex League title race.

Fleming said: “We will have to scrap for points in all the games and this weekend is a huge game which everyone is looking forward to.

“If we win it puts us in a very strong position. We still might have to beat Preston Nomads and Horsham to win it.

“I do not think we will have to win it (against East Grinstead) to win the league though, and if we lose it this weekend, I do not think we have lost the league.”
