WORTHING Cricket Club veteran Andy Lutwyche believes his side are getting to a make or break stage in their season.
Bottom-of-the-table Worthing lost at East Grinstead by 59 runs on Saturday, when batting for several overs in the rain, while the rest of the Sussex League Premier Division fixture list was abandoned, which saw sides take ten, or in some cases, where more of a game had been played, 11 points.
Worthing took nine from their defeat and now host third-from-bottom Roffey, who lead Worthing by 15 points, on Saturday.
Lutwyche said: “It’s a crunch game and we’re getting to a make or break stage of the season now.
“Things are still in our hands but it’s still going to be a big ask to get out of it.
“We still have Chichester and Roffey to play and we have to beat both of those. If we don’t beat them, then we’ll be staring down the barrel.”
