WORTHING Cricket Club captain Luke Vinter admits his side are full of confidence after they made it back-to-back wins on Saturday.
Heavy lunchtime rain meant Saturday’s win came in a Sussex League T20 rules match, where the winning side pick up 16 points and the losing team still take ten points for an abandoned match.
However, Vinter was pleased with the way his side played on route to victory, although said there is still room for improvement.
Crowhurst Park scored 111-6 from their 20 overs after winning the toss, before Worthing got home for the loss of three wickets with five balls to spare.
Vinter said: “It was pleasing to get a game on and to get a few extra points as well.
“I know a few other teams in our league managed to play a full game but the only way we could get a decent game in was a 20/20 match and the umpires dealt with it very well.
“It’s our second win in a row and we’re feeling confident at the moment.
“It should have been a more comfortable win than it was, though.
“We were sloppy in the first few overs but pegged them back well and I’d be surprised if they scored 20 runs in their final five overs.
“We then had a flying start with the bat before we got a bit bogged down and made it harder for ourselves than we needed to but we got over the line.”
