Eddie's back with Hailsham's Mac

County League OneHailsham 3 Arundel 1HAILSHAM manager Kenny McCreadie is looking forward to Eddie Koboah rejoining the squad and he will give him a run out in the reserves against Ringmer on Friday

McCreadie said: 'He's been up in London at university and getting him back is like having a new signing. He's got lightning pace.

'Danny Leach is doing great for me as well. There's a few clubs after him but he's staying with us this season.

'It's great at the moment, we're scoring goals and not conceding. I reckon we have let in only three goals in the last 18 matches, they're a tight unit.'

The Stringer took advantage of ten-man Arundel - who McCreadie rates as a good side - to chalk up their fourth win in five league fixtures on Saturday and claim fourth spot in the table.

Arundel's Jason Wimbleton had been booked just before the interval and was sent off for dissent in the 49th minute after Arundel had a penalty appeal turned down.

Hailsham were already a goal to the good when in the 45th minute Stuart Lewis powered through two defenders, knocked Peter Cooper out of the way, and got his head to Nick Barden's deep cross to aim the ball past Ben O'Conner in the Arundel goal.

O'Conner was looking unsafe between the posts and he spilled the ball to Ashley Jarvis, who fed Lewis but the shot was spooned over.

Arundel got back on level terms on the hour when Mark Reeve fouled and Mike Hucknett curled the resultant free-kick past Russell Tanner.

It was only a temporary setback and on 66 minutes Danny Leach got on the scoresheet again. Mark Richardson slipped the ball through and Leach beat O'Conner to it and slotted home.

Scott French was on target on 71 minutes when Stuart Hack deflected a shot to him and he steered it home from six yards.

Hailsham were awarded a penalty soon after after a Jim Smith foul on French but Cooper saw his spotkick palmed away by O'Conner.

On saturday Hailsham go to Mile Oak in the second round of the FA Vase. Simon Stevens has recovered from injury.
