EP ON WRONG SPOT

EAST PRESTON were denied the opportunity to win a first league match for the first time since December.

Hastings referee Carl Brook turned down what appeared cast-iron claims for a penalty in the third minute of stoppage-time against Redhill at The Lashmar on Saturday.

Matt Huckett had gone on a break towards the Surrey club's goal, skipped past one tackle but was then flattened by the challenge of Danny Bante. Mr Brook decided against giving a spot-kick and the scoresheet remained blank.

Redhill had been the better side in the first half, with Herve King sending a couple of headers over Jez Long's bar and Luke Jones forcing Long into a smart save.
