Ex-Raider Marler set to earn first England cap

FORMER Worthing Raiders Rugby Club player Joe Marler will earn his first England cap when they face South Africa in the first Test on Saturday.

The 21-year-old ex-Raider, who now plays for Harlequins, has been called in to replace Alex Corbisiero against the Springboks in Durban.

He is one of two debutants on Saturday as Exeter flanker Tom Johnson will also earn his first cap.

When annoucing the changes, England coach Stuart Lancaster said: “Tom and Joe have had great seasons at their clubs and have worked really hard to get this chance.”
