FOOTBALL: Andrews believes Rebels are still in title picture

Andrews hopes to return to the side for Saturday's home clash with lowly Walton Casuals after missing the last four games with a thigh injury, which was initially thought to have ended the versatile player's season.

Since roaring to the top of the table with their 6-0 win over Leatherhead last month, Rebels have picked up just 12 points from nine games.

And after their 2-2 draw at Dulwich on Saturday, and results on Tuesday, Rebels have dropped to fourth in the table.

But Andrews remains optimistic and said: "There is still belief in the team that the title is very possible. All we need to do is get on a bit of a winning streak, and who knows.

"We are one of around four teams that can catch Cray at the top. All it takes is for them to drop a few points and someone else to win a couple of games and it will all change around."

Andrews would, however, be content with second spot, and said: "Although we look to have an easier run-in out of the top sides, that has not always been the best recipe for us this season.

"We have let our guard down and dropped points against some of the lower teams in the league.

"We need to concentrate and pick up as many points as we can and see where we end up.

"Realistically, I think we will probably finish second, which we'll be very happy with.

"In second spot, we'll have the home match against fifth place in the play-offs and we are fairly confident we can go on to win them.

"It's been a key time in the season which I have been out for and is a time when you want to have your strongest team fit and playing.

"I'm gutted about it as I've really wanted to be involved. However, the lads have been doing really well and got some great results."

Worthing will be looking to complete the double over Walton Casuals on Saturday and they will be boosted by the return of winger Mickey Demetriou, who had a trial at Leicester City last week.

Rebels joint boss Danny Bloor said: "It will be a tough game but we have Mickey back, and Andy Alexander, Glen Woodburn and Ben Andrews could also be fit, which will be a big boost."
