FOOTBALL: Worthing drawn away in FA Trophy

WORTHING Football Club will travel to either Wingate & Finchley or Ashford Town (Middlesex) in the FA Trophy second-qualifying round on November 1.

That is Rebels' reward for their comfortable 2-0 win over fellow Ryman League Division 1 South side Merstham on Saturday.

Wingate and Ashford drew 1-1 on Saturday, and replay on Tuesday evening.

Wingate are eighth in Ryman League Division 1 North, and Ashford are sixth in Ryman League Premier Division.

Worthing joint-manager Danny Bloor said: "Whoever we get, it's going to be a tough game.

"Ashford started the season on fire, and it's never an easy place to go.

"They have Byron Harrison, who used to play here, and we know a bit about them.

"We don't know so much about Wingate but, away from home, it will be another tough game.

"But we acquitted ourselves well at Cambridge City, so will be more than capable of getting a result."
