Albion army heading to Liverpool - handful of tickets left

A travelling army of 6,000 Brighton fans will leave for Liverpool on Sunday hoping to roar the Seagulls on to a famous victory.

The club had reported selling out its allocation for the televised FA Cup clash at Anfield, but callers to the ticket office yesterday found they were in luck and snaffled up a few remaining stubs.

It is unclear whether any further tickets were left this morning, but anyone who missed out would be well advised to give the ticket office one last try as fans posting on Albion online forums yesterday said they had managed to buy some despite a recorded message saying there were none left.

Brighton go north on a run of good form, despite Tuesday’s lacklustre home draw with Millwall. The Seagulls have yet to taste defeat in 2012 and a string of impressive results have seen Poyet’s charges move to within a whisker of the play off places.

And, win or lose, the weekend’s fixture will net the club a welcome windfall of more than £400,000 thanks to a share of the gate receipts and TV money stumped up by ESPN.
