Albion’s weekend odds: Bolton

Brighton & Hove Albion’s mid-week goalless draw at Bristol didn’t do their promotion chances any favours after only just managing to get into the Championship play-off places.

They would have gone there with the intention of leaving with three points and moving to 58 points with Leicester, but Bristol soon put a stop to that.

Bristol put in one of their performances of the season to dominate the Seagulls throughout the game, while Brighton looked a bit shaky at the back and lost upfront, not managing one shot.

Credit should be given to Bristol though for a heroic defensive performance.

The main worry though is that the Seagulls top scorer, Craig Mackail-Smith, suffered an Achilles tendon injury after half the match and is now out for the rest of the season.

It wasn’t encouraging signs for Brighton fans, especially with games against play-off rivals Nottingham Forest and Crystal Place in the coming weeks.

This weekend they take a trip up north to face an in-form Bolton.

Having won their last four games and scoring 11 goals in during those matches, Bolton will be full of confidence and it won’t be easy for Brighton leave with even a point.

The Seagulls are 12/5 for the win while Bolton are deserved favourites at 5/4.

Brighton’s main goal threat rests with Ulloa for the meantime. At BetVictor we have him at 6/1 to score first/last and 15/8 to score anytime.

The club have worked hard all season to get to the position they are and it would be a shame to see them fall away now.

They are still 5/1 to achieve promotion so they are in no way out of the running, and with the Championship being one of the most open leagues there is they have every possibility of playing Premier League football next year.
