Brace takes over as Mussels manager

Brace was Mussels’ assistant manager for the second half of last season and has previously managed youth sides at under-16 and under-18 level at the club.

Shoreham finished 14th in County League Division 1 last season and Brace admitted that it was an easy decision for him to accept the position of manager.

He said: “I took the job as it’s great to be part of something new and forward-thinking, and to be part of Shoreham, who are determined to bring success on and off the pitch, not only at county level but at youth level, too.

“When offered the position, it was an easy decision. I’ve been at Shoreham for a quite a few years now and I’ve been lucky to win a few trophies at youth level, so winning is definitely a thing I love to do.”

Brace, 38, took coaching qualifications in his late teens and was a qualified referee aged just 12, so has always been involved in football. Brace will now look to assemble a strong management team, while he believes the foundations are there for Mussels to be successful.
